Learn to Vote

On Tuesday, April 15th from 5:30 - 6:30pm Reading Connections will have a representative from the Guilford County Board of Elections with a voting machine to show students how to use it and answer questions.  This will be a non-partisan event meant to encourage civic engagement and voting. The event will be held in the 8 th floor conference room of the Self-Help Building in Greensboro. Contact Rhiannon Kelly with questions at 230-2223 or rkelly@readingconnections.org.

Monthly Tutoring Reports

If you are an active tutor, please remember to turn in your Monthly Tutoring Report, which is due on the 5th of each month.  If you have done so already, thank you!  You can submit these hours by email, mail, fax, or phone.  Call the office if you have questions about reporting your tutoring hours.

Writing Class

Reading Connections will offer a writing class for students on Monday evenings from 6:00 – 8:00 pm in the Greensboro office. Students will learn about the writing process and how to express themselves in writing. Participants will receive a free journal and refreshments each week. Students are still welcome to join! Contact Sarah Humpal to register your student at 230-2223 or shumpal@readingconnections.org

8th Annual SCRABBLE Challenge

The Annual Scrabble Challenge is Reading Connections' largest fundraising event.  The proceeds from this event benefit Reading Connections in our mission to help adults live more independently by providing free and confidential basic literacy services, to increase community awareness of adult literacy needs, and to serve as a resource for the provision of basic literacy services. It will be held:

Thursday, April 17th 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Held at the Empire Room
203 S. Elm Street, Greensboro

You can participate by playing individually or on a three-person team, watching the play, or buying a raffle ticket. You can register on the Reading Connections website at www.readingconnections.org or call 230-223 for more information.
