Holiday Events: Greensboro

Our annual Holiday Open House will be held the evening of December 5th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Drop in for a few minutes, or stay for the whole time! Enjoy live music from 5:00 to 6:00. We will also have cider, snacks, face painting, craft activities, and a special appearance from the Grinch! This year, our social coincides with the Downtown Greensboro Festival of Lights! We'll have a fantastic view of downtown Greensboro from the Self Help building's 8th floor conference room. Watch the tree-lighting ceremony across the street in Center City Park, then stroll downtown Greensboro for more music, food, and entertainment.

The very next day, be part of the 3rd Annual Reading Connections float in the Jaycees Holiday Parade! The parade will be held December 6th from noon to 2:00 p.m. in downtown Greensboro. The Grinch returns to preside over our float! Come in your own brightly colored clothes to be a Who. (Dress warmly!) Our float number is 55, and we will line up at 11:30 (please arrive no later than 12:15) on N. Murrow Blvd. between Church St. and Summit Ave. This event is tremendous fun and garners a great deal of attention for Reading Connections. Volunteers and students alike are encouraged to join the staff to enjoy the weather (historically warm and pleasant), hand out candy, and spread the word about Reading Connections! If you would like to be part of the float please call 230-2223 or email mray@readingconnections.org.

Monthly Tutoring Reports

If you are an active tutor, please remember to turn in your Monthly Tutoring Report, which is due on the 5th of each month.  If you have done so already, thank you!  You can submit these hours by email, mail, fax, or phone.

Monthly tutor reports are very important for keeping track of student instruction. Our data tracking system requires that we enter hours at least once every 90 days, or it lists a student as inactive. Please be sure to submit your hours so we can keep our data tracking current.

Call the office if you have questions about reporting your tutoring hours.
