Volunteers Needed for Mini-Classes

We are in need of volunteers to lead mini-classes this fall. We have several classes that will start in September such as Computer Skills, GED, Writing Lab, Math, ESL Conversation, and a video reading group. The lengths of the classes vary from 8- 12 weeks and can be held at a time that is convenient to your schedule. Please contact Rhiannon Kelly at rkelly@readingconnections.or if you or anyone you know would be interested.

Citizenship Class at Faith Action International House

FaithAction International House will offer another six week class to help immigrants and refugees prepare for the United States Citizenship Exam.  The class will meet for 90 minutes each week on Thursdays from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the upstairs classroom starting on July 24th and ending August 28th.

The teacher of the class is an immigrant to the USA who recently passed the Citizenship Exam.  She has carefully studied the content of the Exam and also utilizes preparation materials provided by the United States Department of Homeland Security to help immigrants pass the exam.

Those who wish to participate in this class must register in advance by contacting Mattie Williams at 379-0037 extension 4# or by sending their name, mailing address, telephone and email address as well as their country of origin to mwilliams@faihouse.org . The class is free.  It will be taught in English.
